This Privacy Policy explains how Start And Power LLC (“startandpower”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit startandpower.com, contact us, or use our services. By using our website or services, you agree to the practices described here.

This policy covers the startandpower website and our managed services (platform and website creation, AI automation, online platform management, and payment infrastructure). Our software product docil.ai is a separate service with its own privacy policy, available at docil.ai. Where your plan includes access to docil, your use of docil is governed by that policy.

1. Who we are

Start And Power LLC is a company registered in the United States. We build the systems companies run on — websites, platforms, email, payments and automations — and manage them on a subscription basis. For the personal data described in this policy, we are the data controller (or “business” under California law), except where Section 6 says otherwise. Our contact details are at the end of this policy.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in the following ways:

• Information you provide directly: when you contact us, request a quote, book a call, create an account, or subscribe to a plan — such as your name, email address, phone number, company name and details, billing information, and anything you include in your messages or during onboarding.
• Information collected automatically: when you visit our website, we collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, device information, referring pages, and the pages you view and for how long. This is collected through cookies and similar technologies (see Section 5).
• Payment information: when you subscribe, your payment is handled by our payment processor. We do not store your full card number on our servers; we receive confirmation of payment, the payment method type, and billing details needed for invoicing.
• Information needed to deliver your project: when we build and manage your platform, you may give us access to accounts, content, and systems (for example your domain registrar, existing website, or business tools). We use this access only to deliver the contracted services.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• provide, operate, maintain, and improve our website and services;
• prepare quotes, respond to your enquiries, and provide support;
• create and manage your account, subscription, and billing;
• build, host, monitor, and maintain the platforms and automations you contract from us;
• send you service-related communications, such as invoices, renewal notices, security alerts, and changes to our terms or policies;
• protect the security and integrity of our website, infrastructure, and services, including preventing fraud and abuse;
• comply with our legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising. We will not send you marketing emails unless you have opted in, and you can opt out at any time.

4. Legal bases for processing (EEA, UK, and similar jurisdictions)

Where laws such as the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) apply, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

• Performance of a contract — to provide the services you have contracted, manage your subscription, and respond to requests you make before entering a contract (such as a quote);
• Legitimate interests — to operate, secure, and improve our website and services, and to communicate with business contacts, where these interests are not overridden by your rights;
• Consent — for non-essential cookies and any marketing communications; you can withdraw consent at any time;
• Legal obligation — where processing is required by law, for example tax and accounting records.

We use website analytics and Google Search Console to measure traffic and search performance; these tools give us aggregated information about how visitors find and use our site.

6. Data we process on behalf of our clients

When we build and manage a platform for a client — including hosting, email accounts, payment flows, CRM, bookings, or customer management — we may process personal data belonging to that client’s own customers, users, or contacts. In those cases:

• our client is the data controller (or “business”) for that data, and we act as a data processor (or “service provider”) on their instructions;
• we process that data only to deliver the contracted services, never for our own purposes, and we do not sell it or use it for advertising;
• we apply the same security measures described in this policy;
• if you are a customer of one of our clients and want to exercise your privacy rights over data we hold on their behalf, please contact that company directly — we will assist them in responding.

A data processing agreement (DPA) governing this processing is available to clients on request.

7. Sharing your information

We share personal data only with service providers who help us operate our business, and only to the extent needed for them to provide their services to us:

• Hosting: our website and the platforms we manage are hosted with Namecheap, Inc., with servers located in the United States;
• Payment processing: subscription payments are handled by our payment processor, which receives the data needed to process your payment;
• Analytics: website analytics and Google Search Console, as described in Section 5;
• Email and communications: providers we use to operate our business email and send service communications.

We may also disclose information where required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of startandpower, our clients, or others; and in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your data until you are informed otherwise.

8. International data transfers

We are based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed and stored primarily in the United States. If you access our services from outside the US — including from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom — your data will be transferred to the US. Where GDPR or similar laws apply to a transfer, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses, and we take steps to ensure your data receives an adequate level of protection wherever it is processed.

9. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

• account and subscription data — for the life of your subscription and as required afterwards for legal, tax, and accounting purposes;
• billing records — for the period required by applicable tax law;
• enquiries and correspondence — as long as needed to handle your request and maintain a record of our dealings;
• data processed on behalf of clients (Section 6) — for the duration of the client’s contract, after which it is returned or deleted in line with our agreement with them.

When data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it.

10. Security

We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the data we handle — including encryption in transit, access controls, backups, and monitoring of the systems we manage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to respond quickly if something goes wrong. If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights over your personal data:

• to access the data we hold about you and receive a copy;
• to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• to request deletion of your data;
• to restrict or object to certain processing;
• to receive your data in a portable format;
• to withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
• to complain to a supervisory authority — in the EEA or UK, your local data protection authority.

California residents: under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how it is used and shared, to request deletion or correction, and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined in California law, and we have not done so in the preceding 12 months.

12. Children’s privacy

Our website and services are directed to businesses and are not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Our website contains links to third-party sites, including docil.ai and the websites we build for clients. This policy does not cover those sites, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always appear on this page, with the effective date shown at the top. If we make material changes, we will notify subscribers by email or through the service before the changes take effect.
