The figures around this company speak for themselves. Cinepapaya became famous in Peru and is the winner of StartChile in 2012. It expanded in a short time in countries like Colombia, Bolivia, Ecuador and Mexico. It currently has an additional presence in Miami, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Ecuador and works in association with companies as important as Cinemark.
The value of the company which started at 500 thousand dollars, and is now estimated to be around 7 million dollars, thanks to the fact that just a few months ago, in September 2014, it received an investment of 2 million dollars from of the Brazilian internet and telecommunications company Movile.
But Gary Urteaga, one of the founders, not only stands out for the success of Cinepapaya, but also for his work and commitment to entrepreneurship in Latin America. He is the founder of Holosens, a company that promotes new entrepreneurial ideas, technology projects and provides support to startups.
This entrepreneur has managed to create strong relationships with people from Silicon Valley who, according to Gary, have not only helped with the money and motivation necessary to promote other projects, but has also brought them closer to people such as investors and mentors who teach them the best practices in the area of entrepreneurship.
