This is Dan Price, founder and CEO of the company Gravity Payments in the United States.
This young entrepreneur surprised his employees with this announcement, and no wonder. Currently the average annual salary of each of its 120 employees is $48,000.
His goal is that at the end of the next 3 years, he reaches the sum of at least $70,000 dollars for each of the members of the work team; no matter what position they are in.
As a result, this increase will mean double their salary for 30 of its employees; and a significant increase for the remaining 70% of staff.
How will Dan Price do it?
Even more surprising is the way this manager thinks about collecting this money. The idea is to reduce his salary from $1 million a year to just $70,000. A decrease of 93%.
It also plans to make use of the company’s anticipated earnings for this year; of about $2.2 million dollars.
Dan Price started his business in 2003 at just 19 years old in the city of Seattle. He recognizes the inequality in the market for the income of a manager or CEO of a company and for a common employee.
In conclusion, his intention is that his employees can access housing and pay for their children’s education more easily.
The reaction of its employees did not wait with applause and faces of happiness. Dan Price has been recognized in the United States for his entrepreneurial spirit. In addition, in 2014 he was awarded as the Entrepreneur of 2004 by the renowned Entrepreneur Magazine.
