Quitting your job to start your own company seems like a very risky step. However, Dave Weiner at 34 created Priority Bicycles; after quitting his job. He now has his own office a few floors down from the company that used to employ him.
After working hard for the software consultancy Cole Systems Associates, and climbing different positions; in 2012 he was appointed CEO for North America with 285 people in charge.
However, as a bike lover and frustrated by the low and high quality, directly related to the prices; he decided to find a way to create a product that had excellent standards and was maintenance free he continued. For this reason, low-cost bicycles ended up being a bad investment.

Weiner worked as a mechanic at two bike shops during his youth. Which allowed him to get to know the industry and thanks to that he began his dream of having his own store.
How he created Priority Bicycles.
Despite having a prominent career working for a technology company, Weiner never left his dream behind; and he drafted a business plan for a potential bicycle company.
In 2014, that plan became the Priority Bicycles company; raising just over $500,000 during its 30-day Kickstarter campaign.
After doing his own market research, Weiner understood that his main goal was to create a bike that required as little maintenance as possible.
With this clear and thanks to his experience, he based his design taking into account that the chain, gears, brakes and tires; These are the components that present the most problems.
In this way, he replaced the chain with a strap; feature found only in high-end models. This strap does not need grease, avoiding dirtying the boots of the pants; will not rust; and the smoothness when pedaling will be evident.
It has a three-speed gear system, enough for daily commuting. Additionally they have puncture-proof tires and an aluminum frame.
After their successful Kickstarter funding campaign, Priority Bicycles continues to receive purchase orders and develop new models.
