If you want to change your life, you must change your habits. In my book, Rich Habits, I highlight what are the success habits that will definitely impact your life. And in my next book, Change your habits change your life, I explain how to create habits of success quickly, painlessly and permanently.
Below I want to share with you some of the key success habits that you should adopt. And also, some strategies that will help you create successful habits more easily.
14 successful habits you need to have to be happy and generate money.
1. I will pursue a dream that I am passionate about and that can bring me financial benefits. I will start investing in myself.
We have been given the incredible ability to dream. It is connected to our DNA. However, somewhere along the way we put our dreams aside and didn’t chase them.
Remember that it is never too late to dream. Grandma Moses began painting at the age of 80. Colonel Sanders was in his early 60s when he created KFC. Ray Kroc was 55 when he founded McDonalds (There is a movie that tells this story. If you want to see some movies for entrepreneurs on Netflix, click here).

The ability to chase our dreams never dies. You will never be too old to chase a dream. Take an hour out of your day and write what your ideal life would be like. In 1,000 words or less, create a picture of the life you want. This exercise will rejuvenate you, inspire you, and make you dream again. Don’t let life go by without pursuing your dreams. We are infinitely better than we imagine.

2. I will do an activity every day that helps me reach my goals and fulfill my dreams.
A dream is the result of something you want. It is a destination. A goal represents a future action that you decide to take. Goals are your transportation system and dreams are your destination. Since goals require action, you are in control of striving for them. Do something every day that will help you move forward and achieve your dreams.
This is one of the most important success habits.
3. I will commit to reading 30 minutes each day to learn more about my job, my industry, and a dream I am pursuing.
Perhaps the most important self-development habit I found in studying the everyday success habits of rich and poor for 5 years is a matter of reading. Rich and successful people are voracious readers.. They spend significant time every day reading for their development.

4. I will build a new relationship with a successful person.
Rich and successful people are very particular when it comes to deciding who they associate with. Your goal is to develop relationships with other people who have a success mindset.
When they find someone who fits this law, they spend a great deal of time and energy building a strong relationship. Relationships are the currency of successful people.

5. I will spend 20 minutes a day developing a new skill.
Millionaires have one thing in common: they work on their development daily. Each one has a circle, within that circle are all those things that make them feel comfortable; That is, your comfort zone.
Most people do everything humanly possible to stay in their comfort zone. Every time you do something outside of that circle you feel uncomfortable. However, every time you do something that causes you discomfort, you expand your circle and grow as an individual.
There is something very clear, and it is that you cannot grow being in your comfort zone; you must expand your circle to be successful, you must experience the pain of growing up.
Those who never succeed constantly avoid anything that brings them discomfort or pain and as a result never grow up to allow success to come their way. Remember that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

6. I commit to aerobic exercise for 20 minutes every day. Aerobic exercise increases my brain performance.
Exercise has countless health benefits. In particular, aerobic exercise increases the volumes of oxygen and glucose reaching the brain, helping to nourish brain cells.
Additionally, it helps maintain weight, improves muscle performance and improves digestion.
But perhaps most importantly, this type of exercise positively affects the way you think. Studies have shown that exercising daily promotes a positive mental outlook, increases confidence, optimism, joy, and has calming effects.

7. I will adopt a frugal mentality.
Being frugal requires 3 factors:
- Awareness: Being aware of how we spend our money.
- Quality: Spend your money only on quality products and services.
- Buy cheap: Spend as little as possible, always look for the lowest prices.
By itself, being frugal will not make you a millionaire. It is only one piece of the financial puzzle. However, being frugal will give you the ability to increase the amount of money you can save.
The more you save, the better chances you will have of making more money; because you can take advantage of opportunities that you find along the way. Without money, these opportunities will pass without your being able to take advantage of them.

8. I will start a journal in which I will write down everything new I learn in my job and industry.
As I mentioned earlier, the rich read an average of 30 minutes every day. What do they read about? Self-help, education, biographies, stories, current events, and topics related to an important goal or some extracurricular activity.
Just as reading is important, retaining important information discovered in reading is critical to learning. One strategy is to create a journal or binder where you write down everything you learn. Create sections with the topics of interest to you and each piece of information or new information write it in this document. Writing down what you read helps you remember it.
Abraham Lincoln wrote things down three times to commit himself to remembering them. The physical act of writing creates neural connections that allow this new information to stick to your memory. This will help you reinforce your learning.
9. I will limit the time I spend watching TV, movies, or videos to less than one hour a day.
Time wasters come in many forms: TV, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat, YouTube, Netflix, and video games, among others. Excessive exposure to the screen will keep you from pursuing your dreams, goals, it will take away time to read, to exercise or to dedicate to truly productive activities.
10. I will call everyone who is important to me on their birthday. I won’t wish them happy birthday on Facebook, I’ll call them directly.
Birthday calls are a strategy to create stronger relationships. 25% of the time, the person who receives a birthday call will return that call on your birthday. Making a birthday phone call separates you from the crowd.
11. I will pay a little more than my monthly payment for my debts.
Small things sometimes pay big dividends. Get into the successful habit of paying a little more for your debts; it will significantly reduce interest and reduce payment time.
12. I will establish an amount that I will automatically withdraw from my monthly salary for savings and investment.
The habit of saving is a habit of success that is rarely taught at an early age. Only when we get old and wise do we understand the importance of saving. Don’t wait until you’re old to start. Start with small amounts and increase them whenever you see the opportunity. The most important thing is that you make it a habit.

13. I will take the challenge of the 100 days where I will not use my credit cards. For 100 days I will pay everything in cash or with my debit card.
Using your credit card to pay for your daily activities and expenses is a habit of poor people. The use of credit cards can easily get out of our control.
If you are using them too much it is because you are spending more than you can. Take control of your life; Taking control of your finances.
Do not use your credit cards for 100 days. Over time you will realize that it will become a habit.
14. I will spend 30 consecutive days tracking every penny I spend.
Do you know where your money is going? Some people know they are called millionaires. If you want to traverse the paths of wealth, one of the steps is to pay close attention to what you spend your money on.
Knowing these expenses will help you detect erroneous or excessive charges on your part. Additionally, it forces you to know exactly what you spend on. If you do this exercise for 30 days, you will be surprised by everything you did not know about your spending habits.
Conclusion.
Millionaires are not people from another world; they simply adopt and know how to maintain successful habits that make their lives easier.
Just think how ironic that is: it’s harder to adopt success habits than to do nothing; but it is more difficult to live if you do not adopt them.
